With the warmer weather came the much anticipated first family road trip! We took a long weekend and drove to St. Paul, MN to visit the Jungbauers! Even though Mom was nervous, Jaeden was a great traveler and didn't so much mind the car. In fact, she slept most of the way there (all but the first 45 minutes and the 30 minutes during which she ate dinner) AND slept through the night when we got there! Here is Jaeden looking at the entertainments for the ride, Mr. Ducky (or is it Mr. Chicky?).
On Saturday, we finally got to meet Jaime Jungbauer. What a great kid he is! He's so much bigger than Jaeden, it's hard to believe they are only 6 weeks apart.
We took a walk along the Mississippi River (even though it was a cold, grey day) with the Jungbauers -- including Wilson! Sorry, Clark, you can come with us next time.
After our walk, we had Reuben's at Cecil's (yum!) then went to the Mall of America. Jaeden LOVED the lights, sounds and people. In fact, she loved it so much she got souvenirs including a sun hat, sunglasses and a Columbia jacket. Can you tell what season we're excited for?
Sunday turned out to be a MUCH nicer day for a walk with the temperature in the 60s and the sun was out. Jaeden got to try out her new hat and sunglasses
AND tolerated them both for about 3 hours! We took a walk
to get Jon's favorite, Jamba Juice and enjoyed sitting outside. Jaeden even got to sit in her stroller like a big girl, facing forward. She loved it!
Paul grilled lunch for us including burgers, potatoes and pineapple. It was fantastic! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Axel's (despite it being very hot in there and the kids being uncomfortable) and the kids were so worn out at the end of the day that they "watched" a Baby Einstein movie with big, tired eyes. Thank you, Missy, Paul and Jaime for a great weekend!
