April Showers

The "big" event of the month of April was Easter. We had an action packed weekend! We visited with Grandpa Dale and Grandma Kathy (who gave her an Easter Sing-a-Ma-Jig)...

...and we got to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Treptow who had a gathering to celebrate Auntie Barbie, Auntie Candy and Uncle Roger being in town. While there, the Stencels got Jaeden started on her golf game by giving her a set of clubs. She loved trying them out with Cousin Kayla and with Grandpa Bill the next day.

On Easter Sunday, Jaeden got to look for eggs (filled with her favorite Yogurt Melts) and discover bubbles that the Easter bunny left.

Later, Jaeden showed off her Easter dress at the Millers (of course after looking for real eggs there, too). She did well finding the eggs but has yet to master gently placing them in the basket ;-)

She took time out of her fun day to pose for a couple of pictures.

All in all, she was a real trooper all weekend, despite having pink eye. She was pretty miserable the next day and missed a day of school, but she's recovered nicely!

Just before Easter, Jaeden got her first "real" haircut. She was a real trooper then, too. I guess the Dora movie playing in front of her helped. Mom's even gotten brave since then and has been putting her hair in a "ponytail". She seems to like it once it is in!

Everyday smiles and shenanigans....

Lastly, Jaeden moved to her big sister room! She took to it immediately, probably because the closet contains half of her toys! Even though she's been in it for a few weeks, she still opens her closet and says, "WOW!" (in a whisper).

The room was complete after some home improvements. Her room and the nursery were recarpeted, her room was painted and both rooms got cordless blinds. It rained a lot in April, and you can tell in our house because home improvements didn't stop there. We repainted the Master bathroom and painted stage 1 (of 2) in the kitchen. April showers bring May flowers, right? I hope so... The sun is shining bright today and we can't wait to go outside and play!

March 2011

Oh, what a month!!! Mama and Paps took the plunge. The Dlugi's went from a cool Mama driving a sleek, black Solara coupe to this (not the best picture, but you get the idea)...It is still sleek and Mama admits... it is awesome!!!

Jaeden enjoyed a Shamrock shake at McDonalds on St. Patrick's Day...

Grandpa Dale gave us a plasma car ("us" because the weight limit is 220 pounds; Mama and Papa enjoy it, too). It will take a bit for Jaeden to grow into it, but she clearly loves it!! It is not power-driven. All you have to do is gently and slightly turn the steering wheel back and forth and it goes!

Tents are so much fun!!!

Jaeden suffered her first toddler casulties... two in one day! First she tripped over the toddler tunnel and crashed into the toy shelf (see the beginnings of a bruise on her left cheek?). Then, later that same day, she tripped and landed on her nose, which started to bleed. Thank goodness she was at school (if she were at home, Mama would have been a wreck)!

Jaeden's a Big Silly!

February 2011

A little bit of randomness from the lives of the Dlugis.... Fun with the playgroup (we missed Hunter, though)...
Why do we spend money on toys when boxes are just fine?
She LOVES her big girl chair... A great purchase!
She went sledding with Grandpa (and her bunny hat) on Superbowl Sunday (and then cheered on the Packers to victory). Jaeden says "touchdown!" with her arms!

Family Trip to Hawaii, January 2011

Jaeden was sooo happy to be in Hawaii!! Maybe she just liked not having to wear a jacket...

We discovered that she loved pools. What is not to love when the water is warm, the air is warm and the sun is shining?

The views were amazing! Jaeden didn't care, though. She just wanted to run (and hang out with Grandpa).
Ahhh....
This was Jaeden's first time in the ocean. At first it was scary, but she eventually started giggling every time a wave crashed over her legs.
A few other favorites.... Mama and Papa at the Mama, Papa and Baby Falls (Mama named it that).
Need I say more??

Christmas 2010

For the first time in the Dlugi Family History, we cut down our own tree. It was a fairly nice day, but it was cold. We had a hard time finding a tree small enough to fit in the corner of our family room. Then we found it! The perfect tree. Papa had fun cutting it down.Aren't I silly?? I may be silly, but I definately am not a fan of the guy in the big red suit. Mama put me on his lap and as she walked away, I realized she wasn't holding me anymore. Who was? I slowly turned and, to my horror, saw the guy with the beard. That was it, I had had enough! Santa brought me lots of really cool gifts, all packed into this new wagon!
Christmas day was really great! We spent the day at Grammy and Grandpa Miller's. I even got to wear my fancy Christmas dress!!

Oh, man, am I behind!!

Where has time gone?? It's Feb. 2011, and I am finally getting to this. Maybe that's because I've been busy chasing Jaeden around? Anyway, Jaeden turned 1!!! She had a great time at her party, but wasn't sure how to eat a cupcake, nor why everyone was looking at her.

She did celebrate with Mama and Papa on her actual birthday (the day before the cupcake incident) and seemed to do a little better with a piece of cake (but didn't even get close to eating much of it)!

We celebrated Football season at Uncle Bill and Aunt Denisia's house. We took the opportunity to take a family photo of all of us in our Packer gear. Jaeden will gladyly point out the "G" no matter where we are.

Facing forward is so much better! We actually made the switch a week or two before her birthday, but she is no worse for the wear. She loves it! And Mama and Papa do, too. We can see what she is doing, she can see us, and it is much easier to strap her in!

"I'm one year old!!"

October

It's getting more and more difficult to take pictures of Jaeden. Now that she's mobile, she won't stop moving!! Here's just one example of a photo we can get. I like this one because this is one of the rare times she show's off how many teeth she has!

Perhaps the only times we can get a decent photo is when she's distracted or sitting down. We snapped this one of the kids doing one of their favorite activities -- looking out the window. By the way, Jaeden and Clark are becoming better friends with each passing day.

There's been lots of progress in the eating world. In fact, Jaeden continues to explore textures more and more. Perhaps Mama T needs to make progress in the feeding area. I turned my back for just a minute and returned to find this:

Jaeden continues to LOVE music. In fact, much to the delight of her Uncle Bill, she's showing signs of liking Heavy Metal music.

We had wonderful weather this Fall! Jaeden enjoyed going to the pumpkin patch to pick out her pumpkin and dressing up lots for Halloween. Her main costume was a Sugar Plum Fairy. We put the costume on and Papa Jon commented that she seemed like she felt like she had real wings!
